DMCA Policy
How to send a copyright notice about material on MC Toolkit, what a valid notice must contain, and how counter-notices are handled.
MC Toolkit respects copyright. If material on this site infringes yours, tell us and we will act on it.
Send notices to mcmod.contact@gmail.com with "DMCA" in the subject line.
What a notice must contain
To be actionable under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a notice needs all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or someone authorised
to act for them.
- Identification of the work you say is infringed. If several works are covered by
one notice, a representative list is fine.
- The exact URL of the material on this site, specific enough that we can locate it.
"Somewhere on your site" is not enough to act on.
- Your contact details — address, telephone number and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the
copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that
you are the owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
Incomplete notices cannot be processed, so please include all six.
What happens next
Valid notices are acted on promptly — usually by removing or disabling access to the material identified. We keep a record of notices received and actions taken.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice containing:
- Your signature.
- Identification of the removed material and where it appeared.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was
removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and telephone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the
federal court for your district (or, if outside the United States, any district where we may be found), and acceptance of service from the complaining party.
Repeat infringers
Accounts or contributors who repeatedly infringe are terminated. In practice this site hosts no user-submitted content, so this clause rarely applies.
A note on Minecraft assets
Minecraft names, terminology and game data referenced here belong to Mojang Studios and are used for identification and reference. See the Disclaimer. If you represent Mojang or Microsoft and want something changed, the address above reaches us directly.
Misuse
Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice carries liability for damages under § 512(f). Please be sure before sending one.
